The 700 r does have a lower first gear and a taller final drive. So your 4.10 might become a 2.90. The GV final drive is .77 while the 700 I think is like .7. The Gear vendors will give you a ratio of 0.78:1 and the 4L80E is slightly higher at 0.75:1. And as you said, the TH400 doesn't have a lockup torque converter.
