Mar 24, 2009 · Welcome to the forum. The 12F is a good ski, its very reliable, and there arent any issues w/ this platform. That being said, $5500 is pretty high. someone can probably pick the ski up new, out the door with a trailer for 7k. and 15F's w/ the same hours are going for 5500-6000. It is recommended that you run 87 octane in the motor, not 91 or 93.

I'm surprised they are selling that cheap. Mines got about 20hrs on it and I'd like to get at least $5250 for it, still under factory warranty till 6/2010.
Update Hi folks, Well, I have an update on my woes with a 2005 STX 12f. OKAY, so I bought a new display computer (pricey mother). After installing it, the display now beeps during the power-on self test, and the the speedometer now works! BUT, the ski still won't go to full speed. It won't rev past 5000 rpm, and it reaches that at 1/4 throttle.Better-than-Average Power. The 15F has long held a horsepower advantage over its introductory-level competition. Evidently all that extra water pooling in the bottom of the exhaust manifold was creating a lot of backpressure and idling issues that the DFI computer could not manage. The ski idles fine now.
